New Temporary Policies In Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic

Please Read Prior to Visiting the Studio or Booking an Appointment With Us

(updated 1/1/2021)

The health and safety of our clients and staff are the most important things to us here at Sadu. In North Carolina, our state is gradually reopening under phased guidelines. We will be open for business beginning in Phase 2, but changes in policies will be instituted and followed throughout the duration of the state's reopening and until it is deemed safe to lift them. We realize these policies will make for a much different experience than you're used to when visiting Sadu, but please understand that these changes are both temporary and necessary for now.

These policies are based on State & Local regulations and guidelines, as well as guidelines established by the CDC and Association of Professional Piercers. Please read carefully.

At this time, we are unable to allow entrance or provide services to anyone who will not or cannot adhere to these temporary policies. If any of these policies make you uncomfortable, please know that they will be changing and updating as things progress, and we'd love to see you at a later date.

Masks must be worn to enter the studio and at all times while inside the studio unless otherwise directed by your piercer in a private room. Masks must cover your mouth and nose at all times. This is to protect you, our other clients, and our staff. Some of our staff are immunocompromised and/or have small children at home---we will not risk their safety by making any exceptions to this policy, and we hope you understand.

Clients displaying symptoms of illness will not be allowed to enter the studio. If our staff observes symptoms, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment for your safety and the safety of those around you. If you have been exposed to an ill person or are awaiting test results, please come see us at another time. We do want to see you; we just want to see you in good health!

We ask that only the clients receiving service or shopping for jewelry enter the studio during your appointment time. We are asking clients to please avoid bringing guests with them to limit the number of people in the studio, thereby reducing the risk of Covid-19 transmission. We are not able to allow friends/family into the piercing procedure rooms during a client's appointment at this time. Minors are required to have ONE parent/guardian with them in order to complete paperwork and receive service---the parent/guardian will be asked to stand at the piercing room doorway during the procedure to limit the number of people in the room.

Your temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer upon your arrival. Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the studio. Clients will be directed to use hand sanitizer upon entering and at any time they are observed touching their nose/mouth area. A pen will be given to you to complete your paperwork; please take it with you when you leave---it's a gift! Be mindful of cross-contamination and feel free to use our hand sanitizer stations as much as you like.

No food or drinks are allowed in the studio with the exception of one drink with a recloseable, securely-fitting lid (such as a bottle of water; no to-go cups with straws sticking out). In the event of a medical situation that requires a snack, one will be provided to you by staff. Please take these items with you when you leave to prevent the spread of germs around the studio.

Under the guidance of our local health department and the Association of Professional Piercers, we will not be providing any "under the mask" services until May 18, 2021. This includes any piercing, install, or assessment that involves lifting the mask away from the nose or mouth, including but not limited to the following: nostril, high nostril, septum, philtrum, upper/lower lip, tongue, frenulum, and labret piercings. Again, these services will resume May 18, 2021. We know this is frustrating, but this policy is in place both for the health and safety of our clients and staff.

Appointments are required for ALL services in order to limit the number of people in the building, allow for social distancing, and allow time for extra disinfecting of the lobby and PPE throughout the day. Please be on time to your appointment!
